This is our introductory session on ‘Empowered Living’. It’s an opportunity for us to grab some food, meet as a group for the first time and talk through some of the areas, themes and topics that we’ll be looking at on our 12 week course. It’s a taster session, giving you the opportunity of working out whether this course is also right for you.

Week 2 & 3 – Food and Mood (Monday 28 March & Monday 4 April)

We’ll explore how the decisions of what we eat, impacts our bodies and minds in either a positive or negative way. We’ll look at how to make healthier food choices through reading food labels and understanding more about what a balanced diet can look like.

Week 4 – Getting Active (Monday 9 May)

Week 5 – Being the best possible parents (Monday 16 May)

Parenting can be rewarding, but can so often be challenging too! We’ll explore parenting in more detail during this session and we’ll share some practical tips on how we can be the best possible parents.

Week 6 – Managing thoughts and feelings with gratitude (Monday 23 May)

How we communicate and our boundaries and respond to others can help or harm us. This session will look at respect for both our own selves and also to others in learning to say no!

Week 9  – Managing Stress and Preventing Addictions (Monday 20 June)

When we are stressed, we can too easily find comfort in distractions that can become addictive. Whether it’s food, our mobile phones, alcohol, gambling or even drugs, we’ll look at how nobody sets out to become addicted, but how we can help prevent it in ourselves or those that are close to us.

Week 10 & 11 – Managing our Finances (Monday 27 June & Monday 4  July)

We’ll finish our course with a look at how to effectively manage our finances. With costs rising and more pressure than ever before on staying on top of our spending, our two part sessions will look at practical ways that we can make good choices and also offer further support if people have found themselves in debt. Our CAP Fiinancial Team will be on hand to give us tips and be available for 1:1 advice and support.

Week 12 – Celebration and what next? (Monday 11 July)

In this session we’ll do some recapping on what we’ve covered over the 9 previous sessions and also take the time to chat and see what future sessions might be helpful to you.
